Empowering NextGen Programmers

cambridge ai pioneer (cap)

CAP is an immersive summer camp at the University of Cambridge, designed for students to explore artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Through hands-on coding sessions, real-world data projects, and Study-in-Action excursions, participants will gain essential skills and insights into the tech industry. Led by experienced instructors, students will develop technical knowledge, foundational understanding of AI and ML, and problem-solving abilities, preparing them for future academic and career opportunities in AI and technology.

Overview

Our beginner-friendly camp, crafted by industry leaders from the University of Cambridge, Google, and Microsoft, is tailored to nurture the next generation of change-makers ready to make a global impact. Engage in hands-on coding activities and tackle real-world data projects that will immerse you in the tech industry.

Apart from engaging classes and workshops, students will experience a unique Oxbridge-style teaching method (small-group supervisions). This personalized approach allows for deep exploration and insight, fostering an environment where curiosity and innovation thrive.

Students will acquire a foundational understanding of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), along with introductory coding experience in Python, a widely utilized and adaptable programming language in both academic and professional settings. In addition, they will develop skills in effectively presenting and communicating their AI projects to diverse audiences. This knowledge will equip students to participate in international ML and AI competitions.

Furthermore, a partnership with Arm Education provides a unique opportunity for students to visit ARM, a leading global technology company recognized for its innovative contributions. ARM's designs are licensed by numerous companies worldwide, positioning it as a key player in the advancement of digital technology and the global tech ecosystem. Students will be introduced to the “Micro:bit Challenge”. Micro:bit is an excellent tool which allows students to learn coding, programming, and basic electronics through practical, hands-on experience.
